Hey Everyone,
The Rundown — Here’s what I found over the course of this week that has helped me, inspired me or gave me some creative pushes…
On Creator Founders — “Founders are becoming creators and creators are becoming founders, and everyone their own media channels.” (Anu Atluru)
—
My definition of a "Creator Founder" — an individual who merges creativity with entrepreneurship, often starting businesses centered around their personal interests, content, or creative projects… and leveraging digital platforms like social media, YouTube, or podcasts. Unlike traditional founders who may focus solely on product or service development, creator founders build their ventures around their creative talents, community, and influence. They capitalize on their skills in writing, design, video production, or other creative outlets, often monetizing through multiple streams of income based on what feels most aligned to their pursuits and mission. On getting paid for what you love to do… “Follow your intuition like you’re getting paid for it.., and eventually that’s what will start to happen.” — You’re more valuable than you may give yourself credit and you know more of which direction to take than you may listen to… your gut isn’t detouring you, it’s guiding you spiritually, creatively and financially.
On playing infinite games — “The cure to boredom is curiosity. There is no cure for curiosity.” (—Dorothy Parker) — If you want to know what you should be doing with your life, look to where you’re most curious and passionate… you'll instantly lose boredom cause you’ll be spending all of that time creating… and there is no end to that.
On legacy and building your body of work — “History remembers the artists…the artists are the people who are creative and march to their own beat and do their own thing.” (—Naval) — What you create takes time, energy, attention, intention, details, mastery, iteration, development and more… that is why it’s something that will live long after you’re gone.
On abundance & the law of attraction — “The law of attraction also includes the law of subtraction. Remove anything that isn’t currently serving you, your environments, your health, your relationships, your money or your authenticity.” (— )
—
I did a post on this earlier in the week (HERE) — I think it’s important to note that sometimes abundance is what you don’t have. Often people associate abundance with “more”, but what about the blessings of not having people or things that would only distract us or keep us confined. Abundance isn’t having everything… it’s having everything that serves you, your mission, your time, your peace, your health, your wealth, your relationships… don’t seek to attract everything… instead, seek to attract the “right” things. On managing more abundance — In building off of #5 above… “if you want more, look at how you take care of less.” — This came from a podcast episode I did this week (Apple, Spotify) — I am all for building on the things that are aligned with our health, wealth and relationships… and I’m also for how we take care of what we have now.
—
I was reading about how what we desire is already well known by God… it’s what we do with what we have now that shows how we will handle what comes next. When more comes, it stays because of how you learned to manage less… Sustainability is about being present, respectful, accountable and caring of what you always have currently… that’s why it grows. On creative directing your life — “How to creative direct your life, transforming what you consume to establish taste and a unique lens on the world. Plus forming your environment to better suit your creative life.” — Here’s a great video by Oren John on taking your interests and what you consume and turning them into a representing style that can transform your environments, direction and life.
—On not being afraid to look like an “idiot” — “First, you look like an idiot to everyone else while you try to figure it out. Then, everyone else look like idiots for ever doubting you would. Seasons.” (—Alex Hormozi) — Don’t let the opinions of others who don’t understand your vision, calling or purpose… dictate your commitment and dedication. They’re still trying to figure out who they are anyways.
On writing for others or for ourselves — “There is a little quirk here where, of course, paying attention to feedback, the feedback loop that’s really important… but I think, where I improve the most in my writing is when I basically said, the hell with everybody else… I’m going to write for myself… I’m going to write for an audience of one, which is me, and nobody else… and I’m going to treat every blog post, in every chapter, in every book like it’s a diary entry… like I’m just writing this for me… I hope to be a selfless person in most endeavors in life, but for writing, no to hell with everyone else… this is mine.” (— Morgan House, author of The Psychology of Money) — I’m not saying don’t take the reader into consideration, but don’t let it detract you from your authenticity (— Me)
Playlist — Relaxed Cozy House Mix in a New York Loft via the Book Club Radio ft. Tinz0 — A great playlist from @lyafrank on YouTube of Chill House to work to… great for creating, designing, writing, computer work.
If you’re creative… then you’re a founder… and this means everyone.
We’re born to create…
you may not have looked at yourself as a founder (a more modern term for “entrepreneur”) but you are.
Deep down inside of you… you’ve got an ideal way you want to live your life, bring value to the world, share your gifts and perform your work.
Whether you’re the CEO of your life or your the creative director of your path…
you’re a founder…
I should really say co-founder since God made you.
You often here writers online say… “you need to romanticize your life.”
I agree… so this begs the question… how are you going to do that?
Create.
Create and allow what you create to become something distinguishable by society to consume…
and watch how more meaningful and fulfilling your life can become.
You’re allowed to have a financially lucrative and creatively filling life…
just give yourself permission to do so.
Go create!
