INTRO…
First, THANK YOU for being a part of this new way of distributing content. Previously I had an email list through my CRM, but a.) I took a small sabbatical from writing weekly directly to my community, and b.) I wanted a new simplistic way to create more consumable value.
Second, the concept of the word “permissionless” is simple. We absolutely need no permission, validation, accolades, features, titles or degrees to be and build ourselves in this world, period.
Third, the premise for this mail drop is to support #2 by helping us rethink how we create, build and grow our lives personally, professionally, emotionally, mentally, spiritually and financially. I by no means, am an expert or guru on life, but I have learned a few things along the way that have…
Helped me reduce stress.
Helped me create more sustainability.
Helped me rethink my approach to business.
Helped me have better relationships personally and professionally.
Helped me have a better relationship with money.
Helped me feel more connected.
Helped me feel more at peace.
And fourth, there are three categories to each mail drop (and this may change)… a.) Simplify, b.) Multiply, and c.) Diversify. In short, I have found that when we make things a lot easier in our lives, remove a lot of the things that don’t serve us, expand on concepts that do and have a better relationship with our time, energy and $$$, we can speed up most other areas of our life…
… and in the information age, there are many means to creating both a life of happiness and health, as well as one of abundance and wealth so why not share that with the world.
SIMPLIFY…
Niching is more than just focus… its energy exchange… its concentrating on the areas you resonate with most.
In business… what is the one thing, or set of things you do with the most ease, in the least amount of time, with the least amount of resistance to doing it and earns you the most money? Do more of that.
With customers… what are the things they use the most, appreciate the most, or simply want from you the most that you already do? Do more of that.
In relationships… who are the people who move like you, where are you the most free, who keeps you at your most authentic self? Do more of that.
In health… mentally, physically, emotionally… where do experience quality, where are you most present, when, where and with whom do you eat the most intentionally with, what makes your body feel the most healthy? Do more of that.
Niche down to expand out.
MULTIPLY…
Reduce the number of hours you work.
Seems like a funny thing to say in a category that’s meant to “multiply” your efforts but the fact is, if you seek to reduce the number of hours you work, you’ll start looking for better ways and approaches to do so.
Less hours doesn’t have to mean less output when you have the right systems and processes in place.
Additionally, less hours working creates more hours thinking, creating, learning and discovering… which in turn feeds the hours when you do work.
Seek to reduce the number of hours you work by finding ways in which you can do so without compromising quality, output or reputation and you’ll create a lot more wealth.
DIVERSIFY…
Vertically integrate everywhere it makes sense.
What is vertical integration? It’s the process of owning various stages of production, or what one might call “the work output”, within your brand or across the ownership of several brands.
This will do several things:
Help you maintain more of the ownership of your resources, as well as the quality assurance of the work.
Earn more revenue.
Help you stay diversified in case one area of your work experiences a decline.
Help you control pricing that’s fair market value, competitive and a good investment to your intended customers or clients.
Examples…
Don’t just be the videographer… invest in creating a boutique agency and a team that can provide other resources in dev, design, web, marketing, advertising and more for you, which you can also provide as a service to others.
Don’t just be the musician… invest in having a label that can create, publish, distribute and market for you, which you can also provide as a service to others.
Don’t just be an author… invest in having a platform that offers editing, publishing, distribution and marketing for you, which you can also provide as a service to others.
You see where I’m going with this. You’re already either using those types of resources or need to use those types of resources. Why not, invest in having them and leveraging them at the same time.
When I was a consultant, I resourced and managed everything but had no ownership or diversification.
When I became an entrepreneur, I integrated my resources, delegated the work, controlled the pricing, managed the time and had complete ownership.
Vertically integrate wherever it makes sense so you can leverage time, energy and money to have more time, energy and money.
