Happy Sunday Creators!
In previous weeks, I wrote about consistency as one of the most valuable and underrated skills, and then I wrote about time being more important than money.
In both of those letters my goal was simple… to get you to think about time as a currency that works for you, and to get you in the mindset of “systems thinking” for becoming more consistent in your life.
What I didn’t talk about was
How consistency teaches us where we can improve.
How consistency shows us a mirror to the external world.
How consistency within ourselves will reveal how others are showing up for us as well.
Remember, consistency is not about being perfect… it’s about about consistently showing up to life.
In our commitments to ourselves, we find out who we are.
When we find out who we are, we understand our value.
When we understand our value, we know how to give through our commitments and we can identify who’s committed to us… who’s the committed and who’s just an opportunist.
In other words, if I know how to show up for myself, have grace with my mistakes, and use keen self-awareness and observation while consistently trying to do better, there’s an extremely high probability I’ll do the same for others.
As you’ve heard, the relationship we have with ourselves dictates all other relationships.👇🏼
How Consistency Teaches Us Where We Can Improve
This past year I became even more committed to my craft/creativity, my health and my purpose.
Why?
Because we must go deeper into the things we love, the gifts we’re given and the ways in which we’re able to impact this world… especially if we are to understand ourselves on a much deeper level.
When we’re called for more than what we’re doing, we must actively be participating in that calling.
And when we commit, we learn, discover, grow and build.
When we commit, we see our blind spots, our weaknesses, our areas in need of improvement and what we must eliminate.
In my craft (creativity), I learned…
to listen to my readers more… to understand how they consume, what topics they’re most interested in, what areas of life they want help in and how I can write/create more on that.
to share more of myself and build in public… that is, to let them know more about me, my experiences, what I’ve been through and what I’m building while showing them how I’m building it.
In my health, I learned…
why my moods would sometimes fluctuate or how to deal with the times I don’t feel like showing up.
about my bad habits and ways in which I avoid following through on some things in place of quick dopamine hits.
how to incorporate better sleep, more sunlight, deeper prayer and some breath work in order to enhance my body, my mind and my moods.
In my purpose, I learned where I was…
not letting go enough
needing to trust in my gifts / path more, while giving it more dedicated time
Had I not been committed to “being curious” or wanting to “figure myself out” or simply getting better, I wouldn’t have learned what was getting in the way.
If I don’t want the “opportunists” around me from the external, I shouldn’t be one with myself either.
Hence, we are a mirror to the external world.👇🏼
How Consistency Shows Us a Mirror to the External World
What I am committed to automatically guides my days, my time and my relationships.
It also guides what shows up for you in the external world.
What I mean is, what you commit to not only has external results, but it naturally places you in environments and other experiences that grow and expand your commitments.
Some call this manifesting. I call this “effort meeting real opportunities.”
We’re prepared long before the outcome because we’ve been playing for them the entire time.
That is why the consistent know the end game.
The opportunist is simply wanting something sooner… whether that be an overall outcome, or someone’s energy or value.👇🏼
How Consistency With Ourselves Will Reveal How Others Are Showing Up For Us As Well
When we are building on our body of work, we will often encounter two types of people…
others committed to the same, or
opportunists not yet ready to commit to their own greatness so they tend to extract more of your value.
Working on yourself consistently will help you weed out the differences between these two types of people.
We know who’s equally committed to their lives because they carry the same levels of respect and support.
In business we thrive financially from working with these individuals.
In our personal lives we thrive mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually with them.
In short, the committed multiply our efforts, the opportunists steal them.
TL;DR
Consistency isn’t about perfectionism, it’s about optimization.
If you want to know someone, look at what they’re committed to.
Consistency is effort meeting opportunities.
When we’re committed, we’re a student and a teacher at the same time.
Consistency is both our coach and our teammate.
The committed multiply our efforts, the opportunists steal them.
Read this week’s Simplify, Multiply, Diversify below…👇🏼
SIMPLIFY…
Commitment will give you more answers than speculation, sitting on the sidelines or comparison. If you’re looking for answers, commit to something of value.
Translation:
You can speculate all you want about how life will turn out, but commitment to one thing leads to several things leads to building a life. Consistency already gives you the outcome before you’ve arrived… you just have to play the game to get there.
MULTIPLY…
If you want to achieve greatness, be committed to your life. If you want to go further, run with others equally committed.
DIVERSIFY…
Consistency is a love language… it separates the opportunists from the committed. (Anonymous)
The committed is a person who creates a path filled with principles, values and serve a long term vision rather than forgoing their purpose for immediate gratification. (- Matt Gottesman)
An opportunist is a person who exploits circumstances to gain immediate advantage rather than being guided by consistent principles or plans. (- Dictionary)

Every time I get behind on your letters I can’t help but be in awe of the divine timing of all things!!! It’s always in alignment. CONSISTENCY has been so key for me this year.
“Consistency is effort meeting real opportunities” I feel this so deeply as my consistent effort is what has led me to where I am and I will continue to be committed to consistency because I am committed to my growth.
I am committed to honor my gifts and sharing them with the world, consistently. 🥰
