Can You Surrender to Your Gut Instincts
In the battle of over-thinking versus pure intuition, which one is winning...

Need to catch up?
In picking up from my last Substack letter… It’s a good question when you think about it… how much of your life is dictated by your gut instincts and how much of it is dictated by your head?
Now, I’m not saying to throw all logical rationale from your head out the window, as we need good sound judgment earned through life experiences, but what I am asking is…
…how much are you using what you instinctively know to be what’s right for you versus making a decision completely based on society’s collective agreement and historical data?
In other words, are you going with that first instinctual feeling that says you know something without analytical reasoning, or are you prone to take what’s always been done regardless of whether it felt right to you or not?
Something to think about…
What is the consequence (outcome) of following your instincts?
What is the consequence (outcome) of following what has “always been done”?
At an instinctual level, we feel something that’s just a “knowing” and if we’re being honest with ourselves, operating in the physical world for so long may make our “knowing” doubt what we feel. The fact is, you know what you know because you just know… and there’s nothing to defend there.
At an “always been done this way” level (following), we cannot help but question alternative perspectives because we innately feel the push (check in) from our soul. Even though it’s always been done this way, something isn’t aligning and our gut instincts kick in.
And there’s the contrast. I either know and can move in that energy or I will be put into an experience that challenges what I know to practice trust with myself… a relationship that must begin with yourself as soon as possible if you’re to create a life in your purpose.
And you’re not alone… everyone deals with this.
I inevitably know what I feel most called to at any given time, but it’s possible resistance kicks in based on my own biases, a need to control my path or simply because I moved in a previous energy for so long.
To that, I say, it’s all practice.
Surrendering to your gut instincts, as much as the best of the best do this, takes patience, practice and a complete letting go of the construct in your head and body that uses any kind of general data to distract you away from simply “knowing.”
So, the next time you find yourself in a moment of battle between the head and the gut, and you’re wanting to surrender to your gut, don’t think about it and just do it.😉

SIMPLIFY…
A very simple way to know if you are overthinking… does the processing use your heart and lead you toward peace or use your ego and lead you toward chaos? - Kristin Bailey
Think of your decisions based on one of two results.
Peace or Chaos.
Does the decision you’re about to make drive you towards an outcome that feels in alignment with your morals, values, integrity or vision for your life? Do you find even more peace from moving in that direction?
Side Note: If you haven’t mapped those out, please take time to do so. It will help you make key decisions in the future. ;)
Alternatively, does the decision you’re about to make drive you towards an outcome that feels confusing, unclear, non-directional, out of balance, unethical, immoral or simply “off”? Do you find this route more “chaotic” than where you’re currently at?
And there it is… that’s it.
Are you moving towards peace or chaos? Now decided from there.
MULTIPLY…
Creative minds don't follow rules, they follow will. - Amit Kalantri
Translation:
Creativity is the output of trusting your instincts; moving energy from your soul to the physical without a blueprint to start.
DIVERSIFY…
In surrendering to your gut, you don’t need to dance with the contrast of your mind.
The source of its voice is coming from something far greater… God. Intuition does not need your opposition. It only needs your acceptance.
A sound mind, a full heart and connection to your highest self allows you the peace to experiment with life… it transcends you to a dimension of divine timing where your destiny unravels an inner certainty and creates an ultimate fulfillment.

As someone who's been working on not overthinking, I really loved the simplicity of asking ourselves the question, are you moving towards peace or chaos when we feel resistance or doubt. I can't get any easier than that.
And as someone who moves in the creative space, this line really captured my heart.
"Creativity is the output of trusting your instincts; moving energy from your soul to the physical without a blueprint to start." So good!
